Guys and Girls....

It's finally happening!

We are stoked to say that it looks like there will be enough swell for two days of competition this weekend and we are going for it :)

We will post more detailed info tomorrow about registration on Friday etc etc - but for now, lets just enjoy the moment......

And cross our fingers it stays big enough!!

Churrrr,

The NCB Crew

NOTE: We are just running a one division per person registration at this stage - but flick us a message if you are really keen to enter a longboard and a short board division. Just email the secretary at ncboardriders.secretary@gmail.com with your request to enter either the women's or men's longboard.

The Polar Bear is a rolling comp which means we don’t run until we have something contestable (hopefully!) We will call the comp on or off by the Wednesday before, if the surf's looking uncontestable we will move to the next weekend, and then keep doing this until some such time passes that we give up completely and take up squash.

The Oasis Polar Bear Surf Classic is now open for registrations

We are looking forward to seeing you all at the beach this August!

And thank you to all our other awesome sponsors, without which we wouldn't be able to bring you this great competition:

Graham Cate Contracting, Set Consulting, Dawny Adventure Club, Seasap Zinc, Kereru Lounge

Welcome the 42nd instalment of the Polar Bear Surf Classic!

We can't wait to see all you Polar Bear legends congregate at Sandy Bay again for some winter fun, epic surfing and of course GREAT WAVES (emphasis added for effect and to woo Huey )

A massive thanks to all our sponsors for this year and particularly Oasis Surf who have come on board as our major sponsor in 2023.

It's a special event for Oasis as their founder Derek Vujcich sadly passed away early this year before getting the chance to see his first year of surf shop ownership out. The shop is now run by his loving wife Rachelle who was super excited to see Derek's legacy live on in the 42nd Annual Polar Bear Surf Classic, and NCB are only too happy to help out with this.

Once again we will have $1000 prize money for both our open men and women's divisions, as well as other great prizes of course, from our many dedicated sponsors. We love you guys!

We also have a bit of a shindig planned for the Saturday, so bring your glad rags for a boogey courtesy of DJ Poppa Soul and the legends at Beagle Radio... Woop woop!

Keep an eye on here and our social media for updates and the registration link.

Entries open 2nd July and we will post the link here as well as on all our social media platforms and our website - www.ncb.co.nz

Don't forget this is a rolling comp, so if Huey doesn't come to the party we will roll to the following weekend until we have contestable waves and don't worry those of you new to the Polar Bear, we will send out lots of info about how this works once registrations open.

See you there!
