Wowee! What a jam packed weekend full of all the good stuff!
We are stoked to have been able to bring you another instalment of the Polar Bear Surf Classic, can you believe that we are at #41!?
A bloomin huge thank you to all of the crew who put the hard yards in to pull it off, ya’ll rock. It’s tough work slugging away through a whole weekend, especially with the weather weathering so hard on us on finals day. Team work makes the dream work and it’s been awesome watching the cogs fall into place and the machine roll along so smoothly
To the competitors, thanks for the epic surfing you put on for us all to enjoy, Sandy Bay has never looked so good!
There were some tough conditions, but you all made it look easy.
We have about 65 million photos to go through thanks to the fantastic efforts of our mate @staticsequences - Aka Matt Bennie, so we will get those out once we have had a chance to recoup, but in the meantime congrats to all the finalists, woop woop!
We are pretty chuffed to have made it to number 40 and we can’t wait to celebrate with you on the 31st July & 1st Aug.
This years divisions are:
Longboard men, Longboard Women, Open Men, Open Women, Over 40’s, Under 18 Boys, Under 16 Girls, Under 14 Boys, Under 12 Mixed, Masters invitational
As usual with the Polar Bear, we have ye olde’ roll over policy, so we will call the comp on or off by the Wednesday before, if surf’s looking uncontestable we will move to the next weekend, and so on and so forth until there’s surf or we die, whichever comes first… On the Saturday of the comp Schnapper Rock will be hosting a little homegrown video project about the Life of the Polar Bear, with some cool memories followed by a music set with DJ Wotznext. There will be raffle tickets available to buy online and in person stay tuned for more info.
