2021 Club Update

We had an exciting start to the year hosting the Sandy Bay Longboard Classic over Waitangi weekend in February in conjunction with Orewa Longboard Club. Mischa Davis winning the Women’s Division and Dylan Barnfield winning the Men’s Division.

Their were premier divisions, junior male and females participated as well as Over 55s and Over 65s. The fun Repcruise Division had everyone cracking up and the Old Mal brought out some of the best nose riding of the weekend. Our sponsors for this event were very much appreciated. Morris Surfboards, Tutukaka Surf NZ, Robinson Asphalts, Sticky Johnson Surf Wax, Tikiscapes NZ, Insight Tattoo Studio, Good Vibes Mangawhai, Underground Skate & Surf and Tasti NZ.

We’ve had plenty of junior entrants this year in our monthly ladder comps and it’s awesome to see the youth development programs working and encouraging young people in competition surfing.

We are currently preparing for the 40th Annual Polar Bear Surf Classic in August. Stay tuned and we will release more information as we get closer to the time.
