Celebrating 40 years of our Polar Bear Surf Classic

The 40th Annual Mammoth Polar Bear Surf Classic will be coming at ya this weekend, Saturday the 31st of July

Competitors need to register Friday the 30th of July at Schnapper Rock, Tutukaka from 5:00pm - cut off is at 8:00pm

The weather looks like it will be quite weathery at this stage so make sure you come prepared for the traditional Polar Bear conditions

We are pretty chuffed to have made it to number 40 and we can’t wait to celebrate with you on the 31st July & 1st Aug.

This years divisions are:

Longboard men, Longboard Women, Open Men, Open Women, Over 40’s, Under 18 Boys, Under 16 Girls, Under 14 Boys, Under 12 Mixed, Masters invitational

As usual with the Polar Bear, we have ye olde’ roll over policy, so we will call the comp on or off by the Wednesday before, if surf’s looking uncontestable we will move to the next weekend, and so on and so forth until there’s surf or we die, whichever comes first… On the Saturday of the comp Schnapper Rock will be hosting a little homegrown video project about the Life of the Polar Bear, with some cool memories followed by a music set with DJ Wotznext. There will be raffle tickets available to buy online and in person stay tuned for more info.
