2019 is the first year we have run the Northland Clubs junior Surf Series. This series consists of 4 competitions spread throughout Northland, looking to involve the wider northland surfing community of groms. We hope to give the young surfers of Northland more opportunities to compete in order to gain experience in the world of competitive surfing.

June Club Day
The maps are showing swell and lots of wind this Sunday, so we will make the call Friday for this months Club Comp. Please note that our Northland Scholastics Squad will be running the Club Day Comp this weekend as part of a one off training exercise, so make double sure you come along to support that, and them. One of our passions as a club is to develop our young up and coming surfers and give them experiences in multiple facets of competitive surfing when possible, and Club Day is an awesome opportunity to do that!
May Club Day
Kia ora NCB whānau!
It's that time again, come to our club day on Sunday at Sandy Bay!
This Sunday we have a Mothers Day theme - with thanks to local gin legends, Papaka Road Gin - Come along to be in to win a bottle of Gin for one lucky mum. (R18 obviously! mums and dads can win, but if a dad wins, a waiver must be signed that the gin will be gifted to the nearest mum )
The ladder comp is rolling, but don't be stressed if you haven't entered any comps yet, there's still plenty of time to start piling up those points.
Don't forget, if you register before 9.00am you go in the draw to win 50 bucks cold hard cash!
Little Rippers will be up around 9am, with help from our big groms, this is really cool for the littles - getting tips, advice and help from their tuakana in the surf -and it's great for the big groms to impart their skills and time over to their teina.
Look forward to seeing you there! Stay tuned for any updates or postponements.
April Club Day
This months club day….
The draw to win $50 cold hard cash each Club Day for those who are out at the beach and registered between 8.30am and 9.00am. You can still be in the comp and compete if you arrive and register after that, you just won't be eligible for the $$.
The fun Tag Team event held at the end of the day - this turned out to be awesome and we're looking forward to making this a permanent feature at club days.
Incorporating Little Rippers and Grom development into our Club Day. This proved hugely successful and so we are going to continue with it.
GEAR EXCHANGE AND SWAP
We are going to incorporate this into our Club Days to help offload some of that excess surf and surf related gear we all have lying around. It's all pretty straight forward, with some simple guidelines.
All and any gear MUST be clearly labelled with the owners contact details, "exchange details" and any other relevant info.
There will be a designated area for the Gear and Exchange Swap, however the property and any interactions with prospective new owners are the sole responsibility of the owner and not any of the NCB crew.
NB - If you have any queries or require further clarification about this, please email the secretary.
This is what the day will look like:-
8.00am rock up to help set up and register.
8.30am - 9.00am registration - Names of everyone entering to be written on whiteboard.
9.00am registration cut off to be eligible for the $50 cash draw - Draw will be done up for each division based on entries. Divisions and running time depending on registration.
9.00am Little Rippers session.
9.30am comp starts.
Tag Team event.
NOTE - We will be running the BBQ this time with snags and bread and feel free to bring your own kai as well.
