We’ve had some cool things moving in the works at NCB lately. One of the things that we are extra excited about is to start working with Dive! Tutukaka. They have already happily got behind a kaupapa that we are really proud of – giving equal prize money to the top divisions in the Polar Bear. Dive! Tutukaka jumped at the chance to show that, here on the coast, we know what’s up with gender equality.
They have also already bought the club brand spanking new comp rashies for the micro groms who are going to look impressive next time they paddle out, the new rashies all MATCH and have the club logo…. Which might not seem like much but after draping the kids in oversized worn out comp rashies it will be a nice change! We are putting an extra push into youth development this year because we have some incredible up and coming talent paddling out on this coast and we can’t wait to support them any way we can. On that note, if you have any sweet skills you would like to share with us to help drive youth development, we’d be super keen to hear from you!
Dive! Tutukaka have also become the first ‘Sea Shepard’ accredited centre in Aotearoa and are looking hard at ways to aid sustainability and coastal kaitiakitanga. Another reason why we are so happy to be working with them is that we can’t wait to get behind their kaupapa as well.
So a massive thanks to our new sponsor Dive! Tutukaka and can’t wait to see how this partnership moves forward, we believe it’s going to be really great for the tamariki and the coast, which is what we are all about!
